HORSE BACK RIDING SAFETY
Check out the Following (For Safety's sake)

I've heard some pretty grisly stories of rider accidents that have happened just recently. Most could have been avoided had those riders "checked their pride at the door" and worn a helmet or invested in a good pair of breakaway/safety stirrups. The links you'll find below lead directly to eBay - a terrific place to find anything at great prices.

Wearing a helmet is a must. The calmest horse in the barn can dump its rider should something unexpected occur. We've heard all the excuses, but survive a close call yourself - or hear of somebody actually being killed or severely disabled - and you'll become a believer quick.

There's always the chance your foot could get caught in your stirrup during a fall - and you could be dragged. That's a dangerous situation and all riders (English and Western) should consider breakaway, or safety, stirrups.

Horses can get hurt in a padded room - it's as if they actively look for trouble. Halters, for instance, can get caught on virtually anything, from fence posts to seemingly innocuous tree branches. If this sounds all too familiar, you may want to check out the link provided here.

Tying your horse safely is a concern every equestrian shares. Whether trailering or tying for tacking, check out these safety ties for added peace of mind.

While equestrian vests make no guarantee against harm, they can significantly reduce the impact of your next fall - and therefore make a wise investment.
