"If you click and kick him hard and a lot he will buck you off"

Dear Keith...

Thursday, August 2, 2007

Hello, I was wondering if you could give me some information on a few problems that I am having. I have a 4 1/2 yr. TWH & Quarter horse, I sent him to training last summer, I got him back and he seemed to know the ground work but not riding, I have been riding him for a year as much as I can, he was coming along good. It seems the more I ride him the worse he gets. He is kind of defiant shakes his head, then one day he decided to start rearing, I have had him from the time he was 6 month and he has never bucked, but all of a sudden he want to buck too. No matter what I do I cant get him to go out of a walk, if you click and kick him hard and alot he will buck you off. I have check all my tack and it looks good, I am riding him with a hackamore because he puts his tongue over the snaffle and then he is just concentration on his tongue and not on me. Should I go back to the snaffle? Should I go back to the round pen work again? I don't think that my trainer rode him very much. If you can give me any suggestions please. I am at a lose please help
