Dear Keith...

Hi Keith
I have a TWH that is 12 years old (gelding). I am having problems like being around a lot of other horse’s or cars. He acts like he has the energy of a three year old and it is hard to get him to calm down.
If I round pen him for about twenty mins and then ride him in the ring he is fine. But as soon as you take him anyway he turns into a fighter.
My other TWH is an 8 year old mare and she will do anything I ask. If she spooks for some reason she doesn’t bolt she just get’s excited and a one rein stop works very quickly. Buck will turn into a handful. This is the horse I talked to you about at the clinic and I wished I had known ahead of time about the clinic I would have brought him up for a little one on one with you. Do you think it is a food issue (too much protein) or just a wild kid inside of him? Your response would be welcomed.
Thanks
Charlie |
