"Would a snaffle bit keep my horse from chewing and chomping on the bit?"

Dear Keith...

Tuesday, August 7, 2007

I really enjoy receiving the newsletters. It is full of interesting and helpful articles and information. I have a question: Would a snaffle bit keep my horse from chewing and chomping on the bit? When I first get on my horse, he will take the whole side of his bit (a 4-inch shank snaffle) and continuously chew and chomp on it. He does this until I have been on him for about an hour - then if I get off for a little while and get back on he starts it again. It is really annoying. Thanks, Debbie
