Dennis Reis Horsemanship

Dennis Reis has devoted his life to the practice of horsemanship. It is the "nature of the horse" that rings true to him, both inside and outside the arena. Over the years he has developed principles which are based on age-old horse handling methods. His goal in each workshop is to leave the student with a better understanding of how to communicate with their horse. Over the years Dennis Reis has learned several truths about horses. One is that a horse never lies. The horse will be exactly as good as his human. And, when given a choice, the horse will always make his own decision. That decision will always be a reflection of the human. The nature of the horse is universal, no matter the discipline he's trained for or his breeding.

Dennis Reis Horsemanship
2009

Horse are able to express themselves in a Dennis Reis workshop. The methods used enable students to learn about the horse's true nature through exercises that encourage the horse to make his own decisions without restraint or force. Skills are also taught which enable students to act as herd leader to their horses. Because students work with the horse's nature instead of attempting to control it, they create willing, happy, safe horses.

Dennis Reis events feature educational and entertaining demonstrations built about finding extraordinary performance within ordinary horses. Young horses are willingly saddled for the first time and problem horses overcome adversity. Experience the infinite possibilities of the horse / human bond with Dennis Reis as your guide to further understanding. Event highlights include: Colt's First Ride - Problem Horses - Herd Dynamics - Ultimate Trust

I don't ask the horse to stop. I just quit riding.

The more you mess with the bit, the more you restrict movement.
